Nachos, part 2

Do you remember that I’m on a nacho quest with a couple of friends? I missed the last outing, but here’s a report from Jon Sparks on the nachos at the Belmont: We know we’re headed for R.P. Tracks and Molly’s soon.

“In our ongoing and heroic quest for the perfect nacho appetizer, we struck gold at the Belmont. It was a good-looking presentation with cheese and salsa generously sprinkled with onions and jalapenos, andall topped off with a dollop of sour cream. Basic ingredients, but all lively and the chips were crisp unless they were the unfortunate ones at the bottom whose snap could not possibly have survived the relentless attack of glop from above.

Kudos as well to our waiter, Jeff, who was knowledgeable and attentive about  even such a mundane thing as the art of the nacho. And he kept the beverage glasses filled up.

It’s still early in our quest for the top nacho plate in town, but it’s clear that Belmont is a contender.”

Mollie’s on Madison has very good nachos. Also, Belomonts has a great (or use to) shrimp poyboy.

Super chicken nachos at La Guadalupana on Summer. It’s more than a meal, and they’re happy to split it into two meals on two plates. Oh, puts “American” nachos to shame shame shame….
