Barbecue tag

I had so much fun playing barbecue tag with CA photographer and barbecue freak Dave Darnell. Read about it by clicking here , if you missed it in today’s Playbook. Take up the game where we left it, in reality, by going to Central BBQ, having a bite and asking someone there where to go next. Or just play it online. Someone start with your favorite place and take it from there. I’ll be back on our Memphis in May blog today, so check out the shenanigans

This may sound like sacrilege, but my favorite ribs are the traditional (glazed/wet) version from Ruby Tuesday’s on Sycamore View.

Jennifer, the list of BBQ restaurants in the Friday Playbook was great - thanks for that! SteveH, I have learned not to knock it ’til you’ve tried it! Some of my favorite dishes are from chain restaurants too. I like a lot of the things at Ruby Tuesday.

Is it just me, or can you not access the blogs from the CA’s main page now? It took me a long time to find them….

Nancy

Cristen - I’m with you. “Blogs” need to be back on as a category.

I added Whining & Dining to my favorites & put an icon on my AOL toolbar so I can click & open it without going thru the CA website. Works like a charm. I agree it is tedious trying to get to it from the website.

Well, if nothing else they need to let us know before they change the format.

There’s still a blogs page, there’s just no link to it. Here ya go:

I’m not quite sure why the people who design the CA site are such idiots, but they really are. I’m pretty tired of not being able to just READ the weather without listening to some guy too.

I was watching Food Network last night & saw a segment on “Unwrapped” about a guy in LA who makes BBQ sauce w/Folger’s Crystals coffee as a base. I don’t like coffee so that didn’t appeal to me in the least. They showed the guy brewing up a huge vat of the stuff & then adding the usual vinegar, tomato based sauce, & spices to it. Also enjoyed Suhair Lauck on “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives” Sunday, altho I haven’t figured out how The Little Tea Shop fits into any of those categories!

Tried Tom’s BBQ & Deli on New Getwell. Was pleasantly surprised at the taste and quality.
