I love hot pepper sauce on my greens and a bite of onion on the side, but I have to say this picture of greens with tomatoes and onions looks mighty tasty, too. Who’s serving up the best in town? Time to spill it.
And don’t post it today, but go ahead and start thinking about it if you want to: Tomorrow I’ll be asking about cornbread.

The absolutely best greens I’ve ever had were made by Ella Kizzie at the Center for Southern Folklore. Of course, since she’s not cooking everyday, I have to give my vote to Alcenia’s downtown and Shalom out east.

Would seasoned spinach count? The Half Shell has a great shredded Italian spinach side dish that I try to get every time I eat there. It’s spicy, just on the verge of being hot, and dusted with paremsan.

Greens on the buffet at Southland, very good. Also, Rays BarBQ in West Memphis has greens that you will go back for.

I think they are in the process of relocating, but Ellen’s Soul Food (formerly on South Parkway) has the best greens I’ve ever tasted.

I have seen the buffet at Southland mentioned a few times on different posts. Is it really that good? How much is it?

Man, that looks good!
I like The Cupboard’s greens if they don’t leave in too many stems. If they do, I just pick them out. A friend who’s vegetarian told me years ago they use BUTTER not pig meat in them.
Ellen’s Soul Food has good ones too but it’s been a while.
And the Cupboard’s cornbread is killer too.

Down South had great greens (and everything else) but unfortunately they went out of business a few years ago.

Southland’s got a typical casino buffet, it’s not bad, but nothing worth making a special visit if you’re not into gambling (or if you work or live in West Memphis). It IS reasonably priced, if you have a gambling card (the price varies according to time of day, day of week, etc.)

Kristen, the turnip greens at Patricks are goo, I agree. I have them often. But not as good as West Street Diner in G’town.

I think I’m going to have to say The Silver Caboose in C’ville!! Goes great with their fried chicken.

I’ll go with Jim’N'Nicks. They actually season their greens with meat, which is hard to find these days (thanks to the darn vegetarians). If the greens don’t have meat (preferably ham hock), then I don’t want them.

I second Little Tea Shop. A friend of mine swears that old Zinnie’s has the best greens in town, but I’ve never had them. I think they have plate lunches, but not at night.
