Goodbye, LuLu

It’s official. LuLu Grille is closing after 16 years. Rumors have been flying that it was going to close and that Ciao Bella was moving in the space. Turns out it’s all true. I just talked to Leigh McLean and she confirmed it.

The last dinner is Thursday, Aug. 30. Leigh said she thinks she’ll run special dinners between now and then, so call ahead and see what’s on the menu, then go eat your last meal and a piece of coconut cake at a place I’m sorry to see go.

I’ll keep you posted on what Leigh’s going to do and on when Ciao Bella’s moving in.

That would be a very good spot for Ciao Bella, but I will miss LuLu Grille. A group I belong to had the Christmas party there in December, & almost everyone got a slice of coconut cake to go.

The wife and I had our rehersal dinner at LuLu. We’ll miss it and Leigh and the coconut cake

I am so sorry to hear that. I enjoyed every lunch and brunch I had there - the great food, the excellent service, the decor. I hope the owner and chef will continue to work in the Memphis restaurant industry so we can continue to benefit from their skills.

Had the best reuben sandwich in Memphis, hands-down.
