Back in Memphis for a few days and have been savoring a few of my favorite things… had a wonderful osso bucco at Encore, a bacon and egg biscuit at Bryant’s, BBQ spaghetti at the Bar-B-Q Shop (love that sauce!), the blackened catfish at Soul Fish, some most welcome comfort food prepared by my friend Kate.
Looking forward to one last lunch at Little Tea Shop before I’m headed back to Seattle… to start eating!
A sincere thanks to everyone who popped onto this space, and especially those who participated with thoughtful, delicious comments… So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, adieu…

You’ll never make it to American Idol with those lyrics! Have a blast and thanks for your good work.

Thank you Leslie, you made reafing the paper and also going on the paper’s blog super fun.
All to often I took growing up in Memphis for granted. You made me see the things that look ordinary and every day to me really are super exciting.
I’ll never go to a BBQ place anywhere without thinking of you, and as you know I go to BBQ places everywhere.
Here’s to you Show them your discovered southern side by ordering Jack Black, and insidt that BBQ be pulled and have slaw on it. WHen you make a Biscuit, remeber you are now a southern girl.
Seattle and the Post Intelligencer does not know what a great person they are getting up there.

“Sunrise doesn’t last all morning
A cloudburst doesn’t last all day
All things must pass
All things must pass away”
Have fun - keep us posted.

Leslie, did the blog ever make it to 5,000 comments? If not, I’m sorry we had to miss our celebration for that milestone
Hope the movers get there with all your belongings intact & they all fit somewhere in your new place.
