Had some fine sushi at Sekisui Midtown last night, the toro was like butter. Sat at the sushi bar, where it’s always fun to watch the good times roll. My order there has got to include a Nashville roll, with spicy crawfish and seared tuna on top. (Santa, I need a blow torch.)
Only bummer, they dumped a shaker full of salt on my edamame. Come on. I love salt, but this was sodium overload.
Did you go out Friday night? Seemed super busy… my daughter and her friends couldn’t find a seat a Memphis Pizza Cafe. Great to see so many people out having fun over food.

Headed to Molly’s for Shrimp Tacos and that fiery hot but oh so good chipotle ranch dressing! Pretty good crowd and the service was excellent! No spilled drinks and the food was hot and fresh -the garlicy spinach they served with the Shrimp Taco dinner was spot on! Manager said business had picked up since your mention here and in the CA a few weeks ago. She said “Muchos gracias!” for the plug!!

The SO and I usually go out on Fridays - last night it was Salsa. I had a great chicken and black bean burrito - and since I can get the bartender to make me a good drink, it is one of my faves!

My husband and I tried a little hidden gem of a restaurant not far from the college he’s attending. It’s on a side road and seems to only get the locals from the area. We had passed it before and decided to stop this time.
It turns out it’s a seafood place and I had some fantastic fresh pan fried oysters and he had an almond-crusted flounder that was exquisite.

I went out with the Squirrels for Pappa Squirrel’s birthday. We were going to try Central BBQ but the line was long, and since I had to work at 9pm we worried it would be too slow. Actually, they worried. I’ve always had my food come fast at Central but they’ve apparently waited a long time. Instead we went to Cafe Ole. No line.
Also - Sekisui in Midtown is sometimes good and sometimes horrible. I’ve been a few times where we got oily fried food and rubbery shrimp. I have recently been introduced to Ryu’s on Summer, their japanese food is great. It’s always almost empty so I don’t know how they stay in business - but their sushi is fresh and delicious. Try it out.
I tried Lotus the other day but it’s apparently not open for lunch. Oops.

I met friends at Mosa. It was our first venture there and we enjoyed it. It was just the right atmosphere we needed that night…not fussy or too crowded. The food was delicious and we had great service.
