Fredric Koeppel reviewed the East Memphis restaurant in today’s CA, and gave it the highest praise… those four star ratings are pretty rare. I think FK has only dished out four stars a couple of times in the three years I’ve been here.

Add it to the towering list of things of which I don’t agree with him. He did get Dawgie Style right, though. The unnatural smiling photo still creeps me.
Jumping topics - that was especially fun last night. The mini-tour of the kitchen was very intersting. Jose is a pretty good fellow.

I have to say the restaurant earns its stars though. I ate there last year and the atmosphere, service, and food (a buffalo steak) were all perfect.
Would that I had the earning power to justify eating there on a regular basis. But I can’t really even find fault with the prices—they’re certainly matched by the quality.
