I’m scheduled to interview the Queen of Southern cuisine Friday morning (way too early!)… about her upcoming trip to Memphis and the Mid-South Fair…
What would you like to ask Ms. Deen?

Please ask Miss Paula if she will continue her, “Paula’s Cooking School” series at her restaurants in Savannah in 2007. On her website, you can only register for classes through Dec. 2006–and those classes fill up very quickly.
How about taking her cooking school on the road- starting right here in Memphis?

What is HER favorite recipe? Other than butter, favorite ingredient? What’s her favorite Food Network program? How are her dogs doing? Best thing about her role as a famous cook? Worst thing about fame?

If her new grandbaby has arrived (he is due this wk. according to the last report I read in a magazine). Of course, if he has already made his appearance, she’ll probably volunteer that information w/o being asked
Or else she’ll postpone the interview because she’s at the hospital visiting him.

Ask her if she plans to eat the fried oreos or twinkies at the fair. The fried oreos I tried were yummy, but you could only eat like two before you felt like dying from a heart attack. Fried twinkies weren’t very good.

I hear you have to stand in line to get in her restaurant to find you get mostly canned vegetables. Nothing like Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding or Daddies BBQ Chicken. Does she have anything to do with the restaurant anymore?

Her grandbaby has already arrived (see people.com)
I would love to know more about her visit with Jimmy Carter. Does she enjoy cooking at home more, or for important people that she has met over the years.
