Maybe I’m jumping the gun…

… but it feels a little like fall today. And, prime time for dining al fresco… I noticed the landscaping looking great at Petra Cafe in Midtown, and the flowers are always pretty at Bhan Thai… love the pines around the patio at Jarrett’s…

What’s the prettiest place to dine outside in/around Memphis?

Not sure what the prettiest place is Leslie, but surely the most interesting places are those in the Cooper Young area. Lots of people to watch and usually music to hear.

My husband and I have racked our brains and we can’t think of anyplace particularly pretty to eat outside in Memphis. How is it that the only outdoor dining with a river view is Joe’s Crab Shack?! I hope the RDC is working on that . . .

Without a doubt Bhan Thai!!!!!

The view is not the most scenic, but I love the small back deck at Memphis Pizza Cafe in Overton Square. When I was single, I would take my Scottie Maggie and let her munch crusts to hopefully attract scenery, so to speak. Now my wife and son and I take our lab Ursula there sometimes. It’s great to sit there under that big old tree and watch Ursula watch the world go by.

I was struggling with this myself as most patios seem to overlook a parking lot or street, but I forgot about the patio at Memphis Pizza Cafe. On another note, I’d love to see restaurants lose the plastic furniture and put thin cushions on the wrought iron chairs so I don’t get those silly little marks all over my legs!

I’ve never eaten there, but the patio at Felcia Suzanna’s looks like it might be the best in town.

Bhan Thai has the most beautiful outdoor dining in all of Memphis. It is not on the street like most patios around and the plants, furniture, etc. are all a wonderful atmosphere to dine.

We love sitting outside at the Celtic Crossing. Baby girl loves to be outside, so we can have a much more relaxing dining experience on a patio than anywhere indoors. But I agree that Bahn Thai has the coolest and prettiest outside downing in town. THere’s just not as much great al fresco food as there should be for a town with such beautiful trees.
