… to Hell’s Kitchen, on FOX last night. Man, that Gordon Ramsay is one mean blankety blank. Yeah, the censors are constantly bleeping the guy while he’s hollering at the contestants, calling them idiots. Well, one guy did forget to turn on the oven. And, Tom is such a schlub. Actually, it’s hard to find anyone to root for on this unintentionally hilarious show.
I know it’s only bad summer TV, but I like it.
What’s your guilty viewing pleasure? Come on, dish…

I think Gordon is hilarious - because he usually does make the right point. I also am looking forward to Big Brother again this summer.
I think summer is made for cheesy reality tv shows, though. I will watch almost anything in the summer.

It is just amazing what those chefs will do to each other. Next episode one is supposed to try to sabotage the efforts of the others. And this trick of the one charged with naming the two to go promising one that they will stay and them naming them anyway. What a way to build a team!

LOVE Hell’s Kitchen. Gordon’s Kitchen Nightmares, on BBC America, is also rather amusing. For those who are unfamiliar with it, Chef Ramsay invades a struggling restaurant for about a week “inspiring” the staff (he’s much more tenderhearted than on Hell’s Kitchen, but the mean streak can come out), reinventing the menu, and making other tweaks to create a successful venture. It’s on throughout the year, but makes for fun summer viewing.

I’m not a big fan of reality shows, especially the ones with snarky judges. I am enjoying Anthony Bourdain’s “No Reservations” on The Travel Channel. I’m convinced the man will try anything once. He has eaten some things that I wouldn’t touch on a BET. I think he must have a cast iron stomach - most people would be sick for days if they ate some of the stuff he has eaten & lived to tell about it. Now THAT is reality.
