Red hot candy tip!

Had the most amusing voicemail message from a reader who gushed about a new candy he tried at Williams-Sonoma at Saddle Creek… Top of the Pop

Chocolate and popcorn! What a cool idea… why didn’t anybody think of this sooner?

I used to eat boxes full of caramel corn called Screaming Yellow Zonkers… anybody remember that? I’m kind of partial to the caramel corn/cheese popcorn combo from The Peanut Shop on Main Street.

Keep those edible gift ideas coming!

Heard of Pop Nots? A popcorn fanatic friend gave us some. They are fantastic.

Maybe not so much for a gift, but I am totally in love with Chex Mix’s new chocolate turtle snack mix. Choco covered Chex, caramel coated popcorn, and little caramel and chocolate buttons that explode in your mouth mixed in with the nuts and pretzels. Mmmmmmmmmmm….

I was at the movie theater recently and they were selling popcorn coated with peanut butter (sealed packages, mind you). I didn’t think it tasted as great as it could have been, so the next day I made my own version: popped some popcorn, threw in a spoonful of peanut butter along with a bit of sugar and cinnamon and mixed it all up in a bowl. After the peanut butter melted it coated everything…DELICIOUS! I highly recommend it.

Tune in to Martha Stewart on TLC at 5:00 (channel 41 on my digital cable line-up) & her daughter Alexis is going to make chocolate popcorn.

Isn’t Valenza’s Pasta the one you said you needed to call first to make sure they were open? Hopefully, they’ll be more reliable when they get moved into the new digs.
