My very favorite office party is the swinging affair from “The Apartment”, the dark Billy Wilder movie from the early ’60s. People dancing on desk tops, popping corks on champagne, cavorting, Jack Lemmon looking as cute as a button.
Those were the days, my friend…
Tomorrow is treat day in our little corner of the world. I’m not sure what I’m going to bring… probably something salty to balance all the sweet. I came up with a twist on pimento cheese this weekend, throwing together something quick to have with a glass of wine before going to a party… goat cheese, sour cream and sliced pimentos. Not bad.

Well, we got pretty ambitious over here and decided to eat around the world. Today was Denmark, tomorrow is Italy, then Eastern Europe and ending Thurs. with North Africa. No supper for me this week!

It has been traditional sweet holiday fare in my office. One thing I tried for the first time was a pecan pie bar. It was much like a cookie bar, but had every bit of the flavor of a great piece of pecan pie! What a great idea. No pie pans or spatulas to bring into work and remember to take back home.
