Went to a pierogi party last night… think Polish potstickers… and got into a discussion about gummy guilty pleasures. Dirt pie was on the menu… crushed chocolate cookies with gummy worms.
A couple grown women started listing some of their favorite candy… available at fine gas stations everywhere: Peachy-O’s. Strawberry straws. Gummy worms, but only the sour kind.
Ick!
Chewy candy has just never been my thing. I’d rather have seconds of mashed potatoes or pasta or pizza than almost any kind of candy.
What’s your weakness when it comes to obscure sweets that are sticky and chewy?

red vines (hated them as a child, love them now) and jelly bellys — with the little “recipe” booklet so you can mix em up properly.

Red vines, Tootsie Rolls, Mike & Ikes, Laffy Taffy, Bit o’Honey…the list goes on and on. The beauty is that most of these are very low fat. My dentist isn’t wild about any of ‘em, though.

SourPatch Kids! I love anything sweet-tarty — the more it makes me pucker the better.

Chocolate Parfait NIPS. Carry them in the car, purse, etc. for a fast surge to stay awake.

I think I am the only person on the Earth that loves Dots (you know the fruity things that comes along in the Tootsie Roll variety pack.) I don’t know how they’re still on the market. I haven’t bought any in a year or two. Finally got my self-control in tact.

‘Dots’ can be found in movie-size boxes in the candy section of Target I like ‘em but can never get ‘em out of my teeth.

I love Jujubies and I cannot find them anywhere. Also if anyone has the inside info on Clove Gum, let me know. I have seen Teaberry and Beemans making a comeback, but I want Clove. I know they only make it every few years and I thought this was the year…
